Diagnosis of problems with the Ride-On Car and their fastest solutions

In this article, we would like to introduce you to simple steps for diagnosing an electric car if you suspect a malfunction. Most problems can be resolved immediately, but some may require a service technician. However, every single problem can be solved on the basis of diagnostics, there is no such thing as an unsolvable problem. Many of the necessary interventions are so simple that you can solve them yourself within a few minutes. Below you will find some of the most common problems that your car may experience:

1. The car does not turn on

Possible causes:

  • The battery is weakly charged
  • The thermal fuse has tripped
  • The battery connector or cables are loose
  • The battery is dead
  • The electrical system is damaged
  • The engine is damaged

Solutions:

  • Recharge the battery - check if the charger is heating up
  • Reset the fuse - the fuses are located near the battery. The fuses are self-resetting, but if it doesn't turn on, the fuse should have a button or it has to be unplugged and plugged back.
  • Check that the battery connectors are firmly connected to each other. If the wires around the motor are loose, contact your seller.
  • Replace the battery.
  • In case of damage to the electrical system or damage to the motor, parts need to be replaced, contact your seller.

2. The Ride-On Car only drives for a short time

Possible causes:

  • The battery is weakly charged
  • The battery is old - loss of battery capacity

Solutions:

  • Make sure the battery connectors are connected properly to charge successfully
  • Recharge the battery
  • Check if the charger is warm while charging
  • If the battery is old, it has lost capacity - the battery needs to be replaced

3. The car is going slowly

Possible causes:

  • The battery is weakly charged

  • The car is overloaded
  • The car is used in inappropriate conditions
  • The speed is set to the lowest

Solutions:

  • Recharge the battery
  • Replace the battery
  • Reduce the load on the vehicle
  • Avoid using the vehicle in harsh conditions
  • Set the speed to a higher one - on the remote control or using the switch on the dashboard (depending on the equipment)

4. The car needs a push to start

Possible causes:

  • The battery is weakly charged
  • Poor contact of wires or connectors
  • Damaged engine - dead spot

Solutions:

  • Recharge the battery
  • Check if the connectors of the battery, motors, and control unit are firmly connected to each other.
  • A dead spot means that electrical power is not being delivered to the end connections and the vehicle needs repair.

5. Loud grinding or clicking noises coming from the motors

Possible causes:

  • The engine(s) are damaged

Solutions:

  • The motor needs to be replaced, contact your seller.

6. The battery is not charging

Possible causes:

  • The battery or charger connector is loose
  • The charger is not connected correctly
  • The charger is not working

Solutions:

  • Check the connections of the battery connectors
  • Check that the charger is plugged into a working electrical outlet
  • If the charger is cold or too hot while charging, it is damaged. Contact your seller.

7. The car does not move

Possible causes:

  • The battery is weakly charged
  • Damaged pedal switch
  • Damaged control unit
  • The engine does not work

Solutions:

  • Recharge the battery
  • Test whether the car works with the remote control, if it does, the fault is in the pedal switch - contact your seller
  • Test whether the car works with the remote control, if not, the fault is in the control unit - contact your seller
  • Place the car on something higher and check if any of the motors work (the wheel spins), if so, the motor on the non-spinning wheel needs to be replaced

8. Automatically turns off/repeatedly turns off

Possible causes:

  • The battery is weakly charged
  • The battery is old/loss of battery capacity
  • Blown fuses
  • Vehicle overload

Solutions:

  • Recharge the battery
  • Replace the battery
  • Check the fuse, and replace the fuse - the fuses are located near the battery
  • Reduce the load on the vehicle

9. The radio, sound, and buttons on the steering wheel do not work

Possible causes:

  • Disconnected steering wheel connector
  • Disconnected radio connectors
  • Damaged radio

Solutions:

  • Check the steering wheel connector - loosen the screw on the steering wheel, pull the steering wheel out and check the connector
  • Check the radio connectors - the radio needs to be pulled out of the dashboard, you can use a screwdriver or disassemble the dashboard apart
  • If all connections are OK, but the sound still does not work, the radio needs to be replaced. Contact your seller.

10. The car does not respond to the remote control

Possible causes:

  • The remote control is not paired with the car
  • The remote control is broken

Solutions:

  • Pair the remote control with the car

Pairing Procedure:

1. Car turned OFF

2. hold the middle pairing button until the LEDs start flashing

- if you don't have the middle button - hold the forward/reverse buttons at the same time until the LED lights start flashing

- if you have 3 middle buttons, hold the button with "code" until the LEDs start flashing

3. turn on the car, the LED lights stop flashing and the light stays on - pairing successful

  • if the remote control cannot be paired - try replacing the batteries in the controller
  • if even changing the batteries did not help, the controller needs to be replaced - contact your dealer
  • if the controller is paired and the batteries are replaced, but it still doesn't work, the controller needs to be replaced - contact your dealer
